Meditation Capsules programs have been researched and endorsed by Masters and PhD candidates at Monash University, along with RMIT and Universities in S.A., N.S.W. and W.A.

Janet works with early learning centres as well as primary and secondary schools to build tailored mindfulness programs

Janet tailors her workshops specifically to her audience.  Her workshops Incorporate age-appropirate, creative mindful strategies, supported by thought-provoking teaching aids and props. Janet’s Mindfulness workshops and classes foster her students capacity to become aware of their thoughts and feelings. These mindful skills can be directly equated to an increase in emotional intelligence; a strengthened focal capacity; a boost in active listening; an enhancement in personal resilience and an increase in insightful capacity, through which we build wise relationships with our self, others and the world

Consultation Process

The Personal and Social Capability components of the revised Victorian Essential Learning Standard emphasise the need for students to manage emotions, feelings and moods. The ability to do so creates autonomy and success is enhanced at school, work and life. Mindful Meditation creates a framework for children to develop these skills

Janet’s courses are structured sequentially to develop the general tenets of self-awareness and culminate in specific practices to enhance subtle focus skills.

Courses includes:

  • Identifying the difference between relaxation and meditation
  • Getting to know the body:  Posture, Breathing, Nervous System
  • Getting to know the brain:  Neo-cortex and Limbic System
  • Understanding the concepts of personal balance and energy management
  • Stress Awareness:  Personal Triggers and Responses
  • Awareness of Words and their emotional links
  • Awareness of the Senses:  Developing Self Awareness
  • Creative Approaches to Meditation: Visualisation and Imagery
  • Stillness Meditation:  Deepening Concentration
Self- knowledge is the key focus for sessions with secondary students. Connection to calm, conscious, present moment choices equip students to manage stress and enhance performance.  These techniques benefit students both within the educational and social realms of their daily lives.

These can be tailored to suit large presentations or individual class sessions.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Physiological Mindfulness:  posture, hydration, exercise, diet
  • Understanding brain functioning
  • Fostering growth mindsets
  • Refining personal perspectives
  • Developing calming and focusing skills
  • Enhancing memory and visualisation
  • Building  Emotional and Social Intelligence

“Janet has been central to the development and implementation of our Mindfulness program at Kingswood College over the last three years, and her positive relationships with our staff and students have been invaluable to our progress. Her support for our holistic education of the mind, body, heart and spirit has been wonderful!”

Principal, Kingswood College, Melbounre

“I’ve been teaching for 15 years and have attended many talks, conferences and workshops.  I cannot think of another session that was so accessible, relevant, inspiring and re-affirming about the positive changes that a teacher can bring about in her students.  Once again, I am reminded that it is a privilege and an honour to be a teacher.  Thankyou Janet – I look forward to learning more from you in the future!”

“Janet Etty-Leal delivered a half-day professional learning session on Mindfulness to all staff in a Catholic girls’ school at the start of 2014.  Staff responded positively and took away key learnings to apply to their classroom practices as well as their own lives. Her visual aids impressed us all. Very powerful, practical professional learning. We are grateful to Janet for sharing her wisdom and expertise with us.”
